Become
a CARE Volunteer
CARE is always looking for new volunteers! Can you help us with any of the following?
We never have enough foster homes. Would you consider becoming a Foster Parent? It can be very rewarding and is such a vital part of C.A.R.E.'s mission of rescuing abandoned and homeless cats and kittens.
Work on fundraising events such as last year's Ginter Park Garden and Ginter Park House Tours. We also may have a "Night of Entertainment & Silent Auction" to raise much needed funds.
Every Thursday night we operate a bingo game at Pop's Bingo World located on Giant Drive off of Midlothian Pike in South Richmond. Any Thursday night that you have free we would welcome your help with working the front desk, selling "instants", or verifying winners. We can especially utilize the talents of anyone experienced in calling bingo using a computer console.
Assist with helping and screening potential adopters at our Saturday and Sunday adoption stands at the Merchants Walk and Short Pump PetSmart stores.
Accompany other CARE volunteers to work at other animal refuges, such as Rikki's Refuge and Caring For Creatures.
Transport cats and kittens to television spots.
Clean cages and feed and water the cats morning or evening once a week, or every other week, at the adoption centers located in the PetSmart stores at Merchants Walk Shopping Center or Short Pump. This is also a wonderful opportunity to give the cats in the centers much needed and appreciated attention and affection.
Help with periodic newsletter and funds solicitation mailings.
If you
have any questions about volunteering, please send an e-mail to Volunteer@care-cats.org.
Thank you!!
