In Honor of Felicia Solomon	To The Wonderful People (and cats) of CARE: Please accept the enclosed donation in honor of Felicia Solomon, adopted from CARE and adored by me since January 1, 2003. Felicia and I, along with her companions, Smush (a N.Y. rescue) and Tux, who was my late mother's beloved cat, are moving to a wonderful new home and want to share our blessing with those who made it possible. Over time she let me approach her and her confidence in me continued to the point she followed inside and to my office. Always retreating soon to her environment. She became injured one day with a crushed tail. I rescued her and took her to my vet. Her tail was amputated leaving only a thumb long length. She recovered and four years later she is my best friend."

Brownie Troop 745's CARE Donation	The young ladies of Brownie Troop 745 from Pemberton Elementary School collected kitty toys, food, and a pet carrier and donated all these good things to CARE. The girls are all currently in first grade. One of the try-its they worked on this year was an animal badge. The girls all brought in items for CARE as part of this badge. Thank you very much, girls, for your generosity to the CARE cats.
Nick's Birthday Donation	Nick recently celebrated his 4th birthday by requesting gifts that could be donated to animal rescue groups. He and his mom and dad gave kitty food, and cash also, to benefit the CARE cats. Nick's family has 4 felines of its own and they wanted to help those who had not yet found their forever homes. Thank you, Nick, for your selflessness.

In honor of Felicia, rescued by C.A.R.E. and now much beloved by Liz Solomon	I recently posted a donation of $150 to CARE through the online gifting resource. Perhaps someone there will remember me, I am the woman from New York who was a Client/Friend of Joan Peaslee from SOS who fostered and then adopted Felicia in 2003 (actually picked her up at PetSmart on New Year's Day). This donation is to honor Felicia, for whose rescue from the abyss of the Richmond pound I gratefully thank CARE each and every day. Felicia is doing fine, or she was until Thanksgiving weekend when her (and my) very much beloved orange and white companion Nick (also a Richmond relocatee--he and his companion belonged to a woman who died when they were senior kitties) died very suddenly. While she's adapted very well to being a New York girl (contrary to belief they don't drink Kitty Cosmos or have Louis Vuitton litterboxes), she still has more than a little of a Southern accent to her meow. No doubt she wished she had more space and could stand to lose five pounds but that just puts her along with every other person, dog, cat and elephant in New York City. Regardless she is completely adored and pampered like the rock star she is. I now work as a volunteer adoption counselor with a wonderful group called City Critters which follows CARE's mission of rescuing cats from our animal control system and I expect that Felicia's new boyfriend will come from among the terrific cats I meet there. May you continue to offer the blessings of love and happy homes to so many deserving cats (especially the seniors...wow that's excellent that you rescue them and find homes)...as I continue to thank you for the blessing of Felicia.

In honor of CARE...	...a 1995 Mercury Villager Van was donated on June 15, 2003 to Rikki's Refuge in Orange County, Va. by Jenny and Stephen Salomonsky, supporters of CARE. This van will be used by Rikki's to take animals to adoption stands. CARE volunteers filled the van with fresh produce for the rabbits, pigs, etc. and bags and more bags of food for the cats and dogs at Rikki's. The van was delivered by two CARE volunteers, Dianne and Arlene.

He has a really “plume” tail, and his coat’s getting longer, but his face is still a little frizz ball of gray & white fluff with those big green eyes. Blessings and prayers."
