Caring For Creatures is a wonderful sanctuary located on 157 acres in Fluvanna County about 65 miles west of Richmond. At any one time it provides lifetime care to an average of 145 cats and 55 dogs. Because it is in a rural area the animals there do not receive as much public exposure. C.A.R.E. is partnering with CFC to increase their adoptions by including some of their fantastic felines on our site. We hope that you will consider an adoption of one or more of these great kitties. You may click HERE to go to the CFC web site where you will find directions, contact info., and other great animals to adopt.
Please note that the cats shown here have been asked to dispense with any undue modesty when describing themselves. They really are that nice!

Caring For Creatures Cats To Adopt

These 4 young gentlecats were born at CFC in August of 2008 after their mom, Willow, was rescued from a colony of cats who could no longer be properly cared for. They have known nothing but love and care at the sanctuary since the day that they were born there. You will never encounter 4 more fun loving guys, social, affectionate, gentle, and playful. They give soft head bumps and nuzzles and adore interaction with people. They are happy in the company of other cats as well. Each of them is a gem and is anxious to share love and loyalty with you in a forever home. Please call 434-842-2404 and arrange to meet them- you'll be glad you did!

Maddie
(Adopted!)
*Her Eyes Are Enormous & Her Heart Is Even Bigger*
I was born in 2004 and lived until September of 2005 with over 100 cats and dogs. When my caretaker died and his wife was unable to care for so many animals, CFC stepped in and rescued us all. I absolutely adore lying in laps where I purr loudly and lean into you for the "scratches" that I crave. I am the epitome of feminine feline delectability and will add so much joy and love to your family.

Zoe
(Adopted!)
*Last Alphabetically But First In Every Other Way*
I was born in 2003, just old enough to be past the kitten "crazies" while young enough to be your adoring companion for many, many years. From my white socks to my beautiful gold eyes and white whiskers I am a bonny lass who will sit on your lap and purr to soothe your jangled nerves
. You will not find a more loving girl with which to share your life. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Missy
*The Velveteen Tabby*
(Adopted!)
I am a classic girl tabby cat who was born in April of 2004. What sets me apart are my sweet and gentle nature, silken fur, and large expressive eyes that will gaze up into yours as you pet me. I love laps and will purr loudly, and even drool a little, when I receive the affection I crave. I am fine with other cats and while I love it here at CFC, a
home of my own where I can receive abundant attention and love from my family would be ever so wonderful.

Lori
*She Plays Like A Kitten And Flops For Attention*
(Adopted!)
I was born in 2000 and lived until September of 2005 with over 100 cats and dogs. When my caretaker died and his wife was unable to care for so many animals, CFC stepped in and rescued us all. I admit that I was a bit of a wild child then, but the care and love I have received here have made me just a sweet old “puddy tat.” I love to chase ping pong balls and if you talk to me I will just flop and look coquettish to entice you to pet me. I guess you could call me a character, but a good one. My C.A.R.E. friend tells me that I am “cute as a bug.” I think that it is a good thing.

C.C.
(Adopted!)
*A Girl Of Soft Purrs, Soft Paws, And Lively Personality*
I was born in June of 2005 and was lucky enough to be scooped up from the middle of a road in Richmond before I could be run over. I was brought to live in a wonderful sanctuary where I have plenty of good food, fresh water, lots of toys, and other kitties to play with. I love it here, but I still long for a home of my own where I can be the center of attention. I am gentle, friendly, and promise to love you mightily.

Marie
(Adopted!)
*Sleek And Graceful As A Cat Can Be*
I am an ebony girl, born in February of 2005. Playful as a kitten, which is not surprising since I live in the kitten room, I was rescued from the dogs that I lost my sibling to. I am so grateful that I was saved and brought to CFC- thank you, St. Francis. Now if I could ask just one other favor, could you find me a home where I will be loved and cherished forever? I would miss the people and kitties here, but a part of me really wants a home of my very own.

Lane
(Adopted!)
*Beautiful Gold Eyes And A Gentle Heart*
I was born in 2003. I came to CFC after I was abandoned in a cage near the entrance to the sanctuary. Ellen, who works here, found me and brought me to my new and so much better life. I was kind of scruffy looking when I arrived, but as you can see from this photo, I am now a very handsome and elegant guy who looks like he has some Maine Coon lineage. I am a gregarious fellow who likes both other cats and people. I have a gentle nature and would be a perfect addition to a family who will love me forever and never abandon me like my former people did.

Malibu
(Adopted!)
*She Will Warm Your Heart Just As The Pacific Breezes Warm Her Namesake*

I am a beautiful calico girl, born in June of 2005, who was rescued from a country road by a CFC volunteer on the way to the sanctuary. She thought she had hit me, but we are both so grateful that she hadn't. You can not see my orange tabby markings in this photo, but they make me striking and unique. I am very gentle and loving and, unlike many of my calico sisters, I am fine with other cats. My coat is sleek and my eyes are luminous. I am a lover just waiting for my “furever” family. Once you meet me I think you will fall for my charms- at least I sure hope so.

Ross
(Adopted!)
*He And Brother Joey Are Not "Friends", But They Could Be Your Buddies*

I was born in April of 2005 and I am a true gentleman cat. I like other cats and even took a litter of orphaned kittens under my paw and cuddled with them in my bed to keep them warm. I was sort of a surrogate dad to them. I am easy going and my brother Joey and I are about as good natured as they come. We have never been apart so if possible we would love to go to our new family together.

Joey
(Adopted!)
*Like His Brother Ross, He Is Both Handsome and Gentle*
I too was born in April of 2005 and am the other half of the world’s finest tabby cat duo. Ross is my brother and we live here at CFC in a room where new kittens come when they are rescued. Because we are such distinguished and gentle guys we welcome the little ones and show them how they should act. We are hardly more than kittens ourselves, but we have passed the wild and crazy kitten stage of life. We are ready to settle down in a home of our own and we have much love to give.
